Antiques Trade Gazette
12th September 2009

"Saturday Trading at Grays Market - Starting next week, Grays, London's smartest and Mayfair's only antiques market, will open on Saturdays. Apart from the occasional special Christmas openingm the market has remained closed on Saturdays since it was founded by Bennie Gray in 1977.

To mark the launch of Saturday shopping on September 19 there is a promise of a day of treats and entertainment for customers. This has been arranged in conjunction with the Patisserie Valerie chain, famed for its gateaux, and on the 19th every Grays customer will receive a complimentary Patisserie Valerie cake and iced tea.

The 200 dealers at Grays in Davies Street and Grays Mews in Davies Mews, W1, both just yards from Bond Street tube station, must feel there is now business to be done between 11am and 5pm on the day of the week when the grander Mayfair antiques emporiums put up their shutters."
